We invited Andrew Cleaton to return to Lilycroft Nursery School to run another series of music sessions for the 3-5s children. Children were encouraged to participate at their own level whist developing thier listening, concentration and communication skills.
Many of the children surprised us with their interactions with Andrew and their confidence and levels of involvement increased with experience. They were interested, motivated and had fun!
Children talked about their experiences at home which sparked the interest of their parents, who we then invited to attend the final session. Andrew explained what he was doing and why, pointing out to the parents the specific skills that their children were dveloping and how well they were doing.
All the children wanted to visit Andrew again and again… so did the staff! This inspired us to carry on the music sessions ourselves. We invested in some new resources and the key workers are now running the show!
