A Nurse visited us in 3-5s. Lots of children chose to come and ask her questions and find out about the important job that she does. She brought with her lots of interesting things such as x-rays, bandages and stethoscopes. As well as looking at them and being told about their uses, children were encouraged to try them out, which lots of them did enthusiastically. This real, hands on experience made learning more accessible for our young children and lots of them were inspired to role play nurses, doctors and hospitals afterwards which extended learning in other ways.
