Home Visits

Before your child starts nursery, we will visit you at home. This is a relaxed chance for us to get to know you and your child, complete the admission forms together, and talk about anything that will help your child settle happily. We’ll also share information about what’s happening for parents and carers — our nursery is here for families as well as children.

Key Worker

Every child has a key worker in their nursery room. This is the person who gets to know your child really well, answers any questions you may have, and supports your child as they settle and grow. They look after your child’s Record of Achievement, but all staff are always available to talk.

Settling In

Starting nursery is a big step, and we want it to feel calm and positive. Your key worker will work closely with you to make sure your child feels safe, comfortable and confident. We’ll talk about settling‑in arrangements during your home visit so everything feels clear and reassuring.

Record of Achievement

Your child’s Record of Achievement is a special book that captures their learning journey — observations, photos, drawings and moments that show how they are growing. It is kept in your child’s nursery room and you are welcome to look at it anytime. We love adding contributions from home too, such as photos or artwork. You’ll also be invited to regular Better Together meetings to talk about your child’s progress, and you can speak to staff at any time.
