Attendance - Here Every Day, On Time

One of the best things you can do for your child is to make sure they come to nursery every day and arrive on time. It really does make a difference!

Why does it matter?

Regular attendance helps your child to learn more, feel happier and settled, and build good habits that will stay with them when they start school. Children who come every day simply get more out of nursery life.

If your child is unwell

We completely understand that children get poorly! If your child is too unwell to come in, please ring us on 01274 545647 before:

  • 9.00am for morning children
  • 1.00pm for afternoon children

If your child has sickness or diarrhoea, please keep them at home until 48 hours after the symptoms have cleared — this helps keep all of our children and staff healthy.

Holidays

We know family time is important! Where possible, please try to book holidays during school holidays. If you do need to take time off during term time, please fill in an Application for Absence form, which will be signed by our headteacher.

  • Up to two weeks holiday during term time is usually authorised
  • Up to four weeks can be authorised in exceptional circumstances, such as extended visits abroad
  • If your child does not return after four weeks, their place may need to be offered to another family

Bad weather

We do everything we can to stay open, even in bad weather! If we do have to close due to snow or ice, we will let you know via Bradford Schools Online. If we need to close early, we will contact you by phone or text to make sure every child gets home safely.

Dropping off and picking up

Please stick to the times you have agreed with us — our routines are carefully planned to keep children safe and help them feel secure. Anyone dropping off or collecting a child must be 16 years of age or over. If someone different will be collecting your child, please let a member of staff know in advance.

A reminder

Regular attendance at nursery is just as important as attendance at school. Thank you for helping us to give your child the very best start!
